Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to help run plasma center operations and ensure donor safety. You will determine eligibility, review test results, and respond to medical issues under center physician guidance.

The role requires licensure in the applicable state (EMT/RN/LPN) and at least two years in a clinical setting, with CPR/AED certification. Training and a sign-on bonus are part of the package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN; CPR/AED cert on file.
• Fulfill state requirements in licensure state for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and donor acceptance.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER review.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist with investigations.
