Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is hiring for a full-time Monitor Tech responsible for attaching and completing 12-lead EKGs, initiating cardiac monitoring, and notifying nurses of abnormalities. You will assist physicians and staff, observe infusion sites, and maintain safety protocols.

The role requires BLS, PARA, ACLS, and PALS certifications with 1+ year paramedic or ED experience. Strong patient care and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of ED or pre-hospital paramedic experience required.
• Basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support certifications required.

Job Description:

Attaches and completes 12 lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty. Initiates cardiac monitoring, detects dysrhythmias, and notifies the assigned nurse or charge nurse of abnormalities. Performs venipuncture for testing and inserts peripheral IVs, hang IV fluid without medication, and maintains prescribed IV flow rates. Observes and documents the condition of infusion sites and remove IV lines as directed by registered nurse. Assists physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams. Follows Center for Disease Control isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of personal protective equipment, perform hand washing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations. Champions customer service by keeping patients informed, providing updates, and demonstrating caring and compassion. Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Transports patients as directed by licensed personnel. Other duties as assigned.
