Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, Florida is seeking a licensed paramedic/monitor tech for the night shift. You will perform 12-lead EKGs, start cardiac monitoring, and assist nurses and physicians with procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role requires BLS, PARA, ACLS, PALS, at least one year of ED or pre-hospital experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent. AdventHealth offers comprehensive benefits from day one and competitive pay.

Responsibilities

• Attaches and completes 12-lead EKG tests and provides the strip to the physician on duty.
• Initiates cardiac monitoring and notifies nurses of abnormalities.
• Performs venipuncture and inserts peripheral IVs.
• Maintains prescribed IV flow rates and observes infusion sites.
• Assists physicians or nurses with procedures and exams.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines and enforces safety regulations.
• Provides patient-centered care appropriate to age and culture; transports patients as directed.

Job Description

Attaches and completes 12 lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty. Initiates cardiac monitoring, detects dysrhythmias, and notifies the assigned nurse or charge nurse of abnormalities. Performs venipuncture for testing and inserts peripheral IVs, hang IV fluid without medication, and maintains prescribed IV flow rates. Observes and documents the condition of infusion sites and remove IV lines as directed by registered nurse. Assists physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams. Follows Center for Disease Control isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of personal protective equipment, perform hand washing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations. Champions customer service by keeping patients informed, providing updates, and demonstrating caring and compassion. Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Transports patients as directed by licensed personnel. Other duties as assigned.
