Job Responsibilities
- Perform patient transport skills established by CCHMC Transport Team policy, procedure, guideline, and State of Ohio Board of EMS, comply with laws, regulations, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Operate emergency vehicles within applicable laws and independently assess department needs and respond within paramedic scope of practice per Ohio EMS Board regulations.
- Maintain current driver’s license, good driving records (points not to exceed 5), national registry, Ohio and Kentucky paramedic certifications, and clear record of incidents in CCHMC vehicle.
- Turn in all fuel slips and required documentation per standard operating procedure and demonstrate compliance with physical requirements of lifting, pushing, and carrying up to 400 lbs.
- Provide appropriate patient care during transport, give full report to clinical personnel, integrate age‑specific and culturally inclusive concepts, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Foster a safe environment preventing accidents, illness, injury; assure crew, family, and patients adhere to safety requirements; report malfunctioning equipment or hazards immediately.
- Promote open, timely communication with healthcare team, patients, family members, visitors, and nursing staff regarding changes in patient condition; participate in improvement activities and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of work experience in a related discipline.
- Ohio Paramedic Certification; Kentucky Paramedic Certification within 6 months of hire; NREMT within 6 months of hire.
- ACLS, PALS certification within 3 months of hire; Neonatal Resuscitation Provider within 6 months; Trauma certification within 1 year of hire.
- Valid driver’s license with less than 5 points on driving record.
Location: Liberty Campus.
Schedule: Full time, Night shift.
Position type: Regular FTE 0.8 (32 weekly hours).
Pay: Annualized between $23.35 and $28.46 per hour (annualized pay may vary based on FTE status).
