Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Certified Paramedic to deliver emergency pre-hospital care, manage ambulance readiness, and keep medical supplies stocked. You will support incident response, maintain territory maps, and work with a team under the EMS program.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Paramedic certification, and 6 months of full-time employment as a paramedic; we offer competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must pass Fort Bend County EMS entrance written and skills examination.
  • Willingness to be on emergency call-in as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Provides emergency pre-hospital medical care.
  • Prepares necessary reports as required.
  • Maintains ambulance inventory of medical supplies.
  • Maintains condition of ambulance and station.
  • Maintains territory maps and updates as needed.
  • Acts as lead person on unit when required.
  • Assists and/or instructs other employees with duties.
  • Signs for and is held accountable for equipment used.
  • Participates in emergency management activities during local disasters.

  • Provides emergency pre-hospital medical care.

  • Maintains emergency vehicle inventory of medical supplies.
  • Maintains condition of ambulance and station.

  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED; Certified Paramedic.
  • 6 months full time employment as a paramedic.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.
  • Organizational skills and ability to complete projects.
  • Applicants must pass the Fort Bend County Emergency Medical Services entrance written and skills examination.
  • Available for emergency call-in as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $25.24 - $31.55 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling positions
