Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a clerical employee to perform all department duties and support routine office operations. The role requires strong computer and typing skills, plus excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities to assist the public and officials.

Applicants must complete the Nelson-Denny test and schedule with the Sheriff’s Office Human Resources. Salary is $22.50 per hour with standard county benefits; closing date is upon filling position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Performs all clerical duties for department.
  • Answers telephone inquiries and/or routes to appropriate person.
  • Provides information as requested and assists other employees, attorneys, and the public.
  • Completes timesheets for payroll for all division employees.
  • Orders and stock supplies
  • Process incoming and interoffice mail.
  • Notarize documents as needed.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident High School Diploma/GED 2 years job related clerical experience Valid Texas Driver’s License Good computer and typing skills. Strong organizational skills; record keeping ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials. Valid Texas Driver's License
