Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Paramedic to deliver high-quality emergency and non-emergency medical care alongside experienced healthcare professionals in a collaborative environment. You will work day shifts (7:00a-7:00p) and night shifts (7:00p-7:00a) to support the Emergency Department and related units.

Responsibilities include performing 12-lead EKGs, blood draws, initiating Hep-locks, bedside point-of-care testing, ABGs, IV access, and preparing patients for exams while

• Assist patients and health care needs as directed by clinicians during Emergency Department visit including performing 12 lead EKGs, blood draws, initiate Hep-locks, bedside point of care testing, aerosol treatments.
• Ensure the daily completion of point of care testing quality controls, defibrillator checks, refrigerator checks, transports.
• Perform ABGs and gain IV access as directed by order.
• Prepare patients and care environments for exam, specimen collection and anticipates needs of patients and providers proactively.
• Perform delegated basic procedures as described by the competency based tool and orientation program.

A Brief Overview
