Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Paramedic to provide high-quality emergency and non-emergency medical care, collaborating with experienced healthcare professionals in a supportive environment.

The Evening Shift-11:00A-11:00P provides diverse opportunities to assist patients in fast-paced settings, performing critical tasks such as 12-lead EKGs, blood draws, Hep-locks, bedside testing, and aerosol therapies.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and health care needs as directed by clinicians during Emergency Department visit, including performing ABGs, blood draws, initiating Hep-locks, bedside point of care testing, aerosol treatments.
• Ensure daily completion of point of care testing quality controls, defibrillator checks, refrigerator checks, transports.
• Perform ABGs and gain IV access as directed by order.
• Prepare patients and care environments for exam, specimen collection and anticipates needs of patients and providers proactively.
• Perform delegated basic procedures as described by the competency based tool and orientation program.

A Brief Overview
