Job summary

The Paramedic at CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO, serves as the primary director of care during emergency and non-emergency situations, delivering rapid assessment and immediate medical interventions. You will perform CPR, airway management, hemorrhage control, and other procedures, documenting all care under EMS direction.

This role requires Missouri EMS licensure (EMT-P or EMT-CP with Community Paramedicine endorsement), a high school diploma, and the ability to work day shifts in a 3x12

Job Description

The Paramedic acts as the primary director of care in emergency and non-emergency situations by providing efficient and immediate care for patients. Responsible for examining, evaluating and providing quick diagnoses in order to administer immediate and proper medical care. Responsible for providing basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, controlling hemorrhaging, etc. The Paramedic also performs more invasive techniques to stabilize the patient’s condition. The Paramedic is responsible for documenting all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services. Operates the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities.

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience
  • Preferred: Previous EMT experience

  • Must be 18 years of age

Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Required: Current Missouri licensure as E.M.T.- P or E.M.T. - CP with Community Paramedicine Endorsement AND For-hire driver’s license (Class E) or greater (CDL) for operation of an ambulance in the state of residence
