Job summary

The City of Helotes is seeking an experienced Fire Captain/EMS leader for a 48-hour shift pattern in Helotes, Texas. You will supervise scene operations, provide advanced medical care, and coordinate firefighting and rescue efforts on diverse incidents.

Responsibilities include fire suppression, rescue operations, safety oversight, and training duties. A valid Texas firefighter certification and paramedic licensure are required, with strong English communication and stress-management skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Texas Firefighter certification or equivalent required; EMT Paramedic license required.
• Must reside within 60 minutes of Helotes within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, EMS calls, and other emergencies.
• Provide definitive medical care and operate rescue equipment.
• Perform fire suppression, hazardous tasks, and technical rescues as needed.
• Inspect equipment, maintain records, and participate in training.
