Job summary

Gfoat in Richland Hills, TX seeks a seasoned Firefighter/EMS professional to operate emergency apparatus, ensure water supply on scene, and perform inspections and maintenance of gear.

You will participate in training, fire investigations, code enforcement, and hazardous materials operations, with a 48/96 hour shift and potential acting Fire Captain duties in absence of the Captain. A valid Texas driver's license and EMS credentials are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years firefighting experience required.
• Four years EMS experience required.
• Valid Texas class B driver's license or higher.
• Possession of TCFP Intermediate Firefighter certification.
• EMS certification (EMT/Paramedic) or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Fire department certifications: Hazardous Materials Technician, Instructor I, Fire Officer I.

Responsibilities

• Drive assigned emergency apparatus to calls and operate pumps and ladders.
• Maintain readiness of apparatus and equipment; replenish supplies.
• Participate in station upkeep and training programs.
• Test SCBA and perform minor maintenance.
• Engage in fire inspections and pre-fire planning.
• Respond to natural disasters and hazardous materials incidents.
• Prepare incident reports.
• Operate hydrants and hoses as needed.
• Shift as second in command in absence of Fire Captain.
• Familiarize new personnel with apparatus and equipment.
