Job summary

Alamo Heights Fire Department is seeking a dedicated Firefighter to join our crew. Under direct supervision, you will fight fires, protect lives, and maintain equipment and quarters with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include responding to alarms, performing search and rescue, providing basic EMS, and participating in drills and inspections. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, valid Texas driver’s license, and current firefighter certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Modules 1-2 of SOG 3.12 within 1 year.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License; Class B within 12 months.
• Current Basic Firefighter certification and EMT Basic certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and operate hoses/equipment.
• Make forcible entry and ventilate to clear smoke and gases.
• Mitigate hazardous materials incidents.
• Assist in rescuing people and provide pre-hospital care when needed.
• Perform maintenance, drills, and safety inspections.
