Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated EMT-Paramedic to respond to emergencies, provide advanced patient care, and operate EMS equipment across diverse conditions. The role requires strict adherence to medical standards and state regulations.

You will be responsible for safety, detailed reporting, and ongoing education, with a focus on high-quality care in a dynamic environment. The position involves full-time hours with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic training program required.
• Current EMT-Paramedic certification required upon hire.
• Reciprocity with NCOEMS within the first month of employment.
• BLS CPR certification within first month.
• ICS-100, -200, -700, and -800 within first month.
• ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and PHTLS/ITLS within first 3 months.
• National Registry Paramedic Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests as directed by the response plan.
• Identify hazards and use PPE including ballistics vest and extrication gear.
• Provide quality patient care per policy and regulations.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive medical interventions as needed.
• Operate EMS vehicles and communications equipment safely.
• Prepare detailed medical and incident reports as required.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, and supplies on readiness.
• Participate in EMS community education and outreach.
