Job summary

Garden City Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Paramedic to join our Emergency Department on the night shift. You will deliver direct patient care, communicate changes in condition to the physician, and respond quickly to evolving situations.

Applicants must hold a Michigan paramedic license with BCLS, ACLS and PALS/ENPC certifications, and prefer at least one year of EMS or acute care hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan paramedic license.
• BCLS (AHA) certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• PALS and/or ENPC required within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year as a paramedic in EMS or acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department and monitor clinical status.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the physician and respond to evolving needs.

Responsibilities

The paramedic is directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department. He / She communicates with the physician about the changes in the patients clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies. The Paramedic will do other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Michigan.
2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. ACLS 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. PALS and/or ENPC required 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
5. Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred.
