Job Summary and Qualifications

What you should expect to do in this role:

  • You will establish IV access as delegated by a RN.
  • You will provide assistance with patient care, transportation of patients, specimens and supplies; cleaning and stocking the department, patient rooms and transport ambulance; other duties as assigned.
  • You will perform intra facility transport.
  • Your job will perform assigned tasks and activities according to skill level and patient needs as assessed by the RN.
  • You will support nursing personnel in providing care to patients and assist with providing a safe, quiet, clean, organized environment for healthcare delivery.
  • You will answer telephone and intercom efficiently and courteously, relaying messages and calls to appropriate personnel and other departments as needed.
  • Your role maintains records, transcribes physician orders, and assures orders are carried out in an expeditious manner.
Qualifications
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Current certification/licensure as a Paramedic per state requirements.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a field paramedic with an EMS agency and/or clinical experience working in a hospital – current clinical competency must be demonstrated and additional education/training may be required.
  • Ability to routinely multi-task in a busy, stressful, fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action.
  • Current certification/licensure as a Paramedic or EMTA (Emergency Medical Technician Advanced) per state requirements.
