Job summary

Garden City Hospital in Michigan seeks a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to contribute to patient care in a high-volume ED. You will perform assessment and basic management of medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies under supervision.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, EMT training, BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications, and state EMT licensure. Full-time, variable shifts with a strong focus on safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required for new hires.
• Basic EMT Training or ER experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS certificate required within 30 days of hire.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by state certifying agency required.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and / or physician. Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice; Assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility May Require Items Listed Below)

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.
