Job summary

Garden City Hospital in Michigan is seeking a dedicated Paramedic to join the Emergency Department team.

You will assess patients, communicate with physicians, respond to changes in condition, and adhere to EMTALA regulations while performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Michigan paramedic license required.
• BCLS (AHA) certificate required.
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• PALS or ENPC required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year as a paramedic in EMS or acute care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Know EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

The paramedic is directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department. He / She communicates with the physician about the changes in the patients clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies. The Paramedic will do other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Michigan.

2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. ACLS 90 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. PALS and/or ENPC required 90 days upon hire and maintain current.

5. Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred.
