Job summary

The City of New Orleans is seeking EMS personnel to operate under physician direction in recognizing, assessing and controlling medical emergencies, including transport and care of patients to a medical facility.

Applicants must hold NREMT-Paramedic, CPR, ACLS, REPLICA license, and Orleans Parish EMT permit; original permits must be submitted within 30 days. A one-year probationary period applies.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current provisional or permanent National Registry Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic.
• Possession of a current CPR certification.
• Possession of a current ACLS certification.
• Possession of a current unrestricted EMS Certification or License from REPLICA (EMS Compact).
• Possession of a current Orleans Parish EMT permit issued by the New Orleans Health Department. Original certification must be submitted within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a physician to recognize, assess and control medical emergencies.
• Transport and provide care to patients to a medical facility and perform related tasks as required.
