Job summary

Plaquemines Parish Government seeks an Emergency Medical Technician Advanced to provide urgent pre-hospital care. Under supervision, you will respond to calls, assess scenes, administer advanced EMS care, operate EMS vehicles, coordinate resources, and document activities.

Requires EMT-Advanced certification, CPR/AED, BLS, a valid Class D license, a clean driving record, and a background check. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with EMT-Advanced certification.
• Current national/state EMT-Advanced registry certification.
• CPR/AED and BLS certifications required.
• Valid Class D driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Background check and medical fitness may be required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls 24/7 and provide advanced EMS care.
• Drive and maneuver emergency vehicles to incident scenes.
• Assess scenes for safety and resource needs.
• Coordinate resources and communicate with hospitals and agencies.
• Document care and maintain equipment and inventory.
