Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate and understand English verbally and in writing.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• EMT-P certification and state licenses required.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance operations with partner, ensuring safety and public protection.
• Responds to assigned calls promptly, assesses scene, and requests additional help when needed.
• Provides BLS patient care per procedures and local protocols; treats patients with appropriate techniques.
• Provides ALS operations, managing patient assessment, packaging and transport.
• Completes medical records and transportation reports accurately.
• Maintains knowledge of EMT standards, equipment function and usage.
• Ensures safety for self, crew, patients and equipment.
• Maintains professional relationships with EMS, hospitals and the public.
• Keeps up-to-date with local geography and mapping systems.
• Maintains units and equipment in clean, ready condition after responses.
• Reports equipment damage or malfunctions and ensures vehicle readiness.
• Performs station duties and maintains crew quarters in lean condition.
• Wears clean uniform and maintains hygiene and professional demeanor.
