Paramedic EMS Medical Control Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Paramedic EMS Medical Control Specialist to join our team at Medical City Plano. This role involves building relationships with EMS providers, hospitals, and the community to facilitate transports and referrals, ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Answer EMS calls and coordinate patient room assignments with the ED Charge Nurse.
• Coordinate with outside hospitals for patient reports and ensure activation of trauma, stroke, and STEMI teams as needed.
• Collaborate with security regarding aircraft landings and relay helipad status.
• Monitor EMSystems and assist with data management during incidents.
• Support EMS personnel with operational issues and track EMS data and statistics.
• Follow up on high-acuity patients and maintain knowledge of EMS protocols.
• Participate in shift huddles and team communications.

Qualifications

• Technical or Vocational training.
• Emergency Medical Technician: Paramedic (EMT-P).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Cardiac Life Support certifications within 30 days of employment.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in pre-hospital and hospital emergency medical services, with knowledge of EMS radio operations preferred.
