WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Paramedic to join the Emergency Department team. You will deliver high-quality patient care in collaboration with RNs, ED Providers, and other staff, and perform lifesaving procedures within scope defined by NC EMS and the NC Board of Nursing.
Applicants must be a Graduate Paramedic with NC paramedic licensure and have at least 6 months of clinical EMS experience; an Associate's Degree in Emergency Medical Science is preferred.
The Paramedic in the Emergency Department (ED) functions as a member of the ED team and is responsible for providing quality patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, ED Providers, and ED Nurse Techs. Performs all selected procedures and tasks outlined and approved for paramedics by the North Carolina Office of EMS and the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The ED Paramedic must demonstrate the ability to understand, communicate and react effectively and appropriately to the unique needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Basic Life Support Required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required.
