Job Summary and Qualifications

The Paramedic performs direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Paramedic/EMT Practice Act, using therapeutic communication, maintaining a safe environment, and identifying nursing problems related to patient needs. Participates in quality improvement activities and provides care aligned with the hospital’s mission.

Qualifications include:

• ACLS and BLS within 30 days of employment
• PALS within 90 days
• Licensed Paramedic in Texas
• Previous EMS hospital experience
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or equivalent certification within 1 year
