The Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P) provides direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Paramedic/EMT Practice Act and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include assisting with vital signs, patient care procedures, and documentation. Requirements include Basic Cardiac Life Support, Paramedic (EMT-P) certification, and at least 1 year of 911 System or Hospital ED experience. Additional certifications like ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
