Job summary

Craven Community College is seeking a Paramedic Instructor for Workforce Development to plan, deliver, coordinate, and evaluate Paramedic programs. The role includes classroom, lab, and simulation instruction and ensuring compliance with EMS standards.

When designated, lead instructor duties may be assumed in accordance with accreditation requirements. The instructor will develop curriculum, assess student performance, coordinate internships, and participate in recruitment and program assessment

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution and four years’ paramedic practice with hands-on prehospital care at paramedic level.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic license.
• Current instructor credentials recognized by the NC Office of EMS or ability to obtain such credentials.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, laboratory, and simulation instruction for Paramedic education programs.
• Develop, revise, and evaluate curriculum, instructional materials, assessments, and learning activities to meet EMS standards.
• Assess student performance, provide advising/remediation, and maintain records.
• Coordinate clinical and field internship activities and equipment management.
• Participate in recruitment, orientation, retention activities and committees as needed.
• Lead didactic, laboratory, clinical, and field instruction when designated as Lead Instructor.
