Job summary

Fortrea in Madison, WI is seeking a Paramedic to work in a fast-paced clinical research unit, interacting with healthy volunteers and supporting protocol-driven activities.

Under medical oversight, you will monitor safety, perform basic and advanced medical care, lead emergency response, collect samples, measure vitals, and document observations. ACLS certification and an active Paramedic license are required; 2+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State license or certification as a Paramedic.
• ACLS certification required.
• Strong paramedic skills including airway management, IV establishment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• 2+ years of Paramedic experience preferred.
• Experience in emergent and non-emergent medical situations.
• Familiarity with GCP and clinical research concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, investigators, and clinical staff to support participant care.
• Deliver basic and advanced medical care within scope of practice.
• Lead resuscitation and stabilization in life-threatening situations per protocol.
• Monitor, document, and review adverse events and safety data.
• Administer medications as prescribed and per protocol.
• Perform blood collection, vital signs, ECGs, and other protocol activities.
• Document procedures and observations accurately in source systems.
• Escalate safety concerns to the investigator as needed.
