Job summary

Fortrea is seeking a Paramedic to join our Madison, WI Clinical Research Unit. You will interact with healthy volunteers, monitor safety, and perform essential medical tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Under physician oversight, you will handle emergent and routine clinical activities, document findings, and collaborate with nurses and investigators to ensure participant safety and protocol compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State license as Paramedic and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 2+ years of Paramedic experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication with staff, investigators, and participants.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced study environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary safety contact for participants under physician oversight.
• Provide basic and advanced medical care within scope of practice.
• Lead resuscitation and stabilization for life-threatening situations.
• Monitor, document, and review adverse events with investigators.
• Escalate safety concerns for protocol review and dosing decisions.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol and standing orders.
• Perform blood collection, Vital signs, ECGs, and other procedures.
• Document procedures and observations accurately in source documents.
