Job summary

Fortrea seeks a Paramedic (On-Call) for its Madison, WI clinical research unit to support healthy volunteer studies. You will interact with participants, read protocols, and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Under medical oversight of the Physician/Investigator, you will provide safety monitoring, basic and advanced medical care within scope of practice, and support protocol-required activities. ACLS-certified paramedics with 2+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State license or certification as a Paramedic required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Strong paramedic skills including airway management, IV establishment and subcutaneous injections.
• Preferably 2+ years of experience as Paramedic.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary safety contact for study participants within a Fortrea CRU.
• Monitor participant safety and well-being and support protocol-required clinical activities.
• Lead resuscitation and stabilization in life-threatening situations per protocol.
• Document adverse events and interventions with accuracy and timeliness.
• Escalate safety concerns to the investigator for review and determination of procedures/dosing.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and per SOPs.
• Perform procedures like blood collection, vital signs, ECGs, and other protocol activities.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, investigators and clinical team to ensure coordinated care.
