Job summary

Aspen Valley Health is hiring a PRN Paramedic in the Aspen Ambulance department. You will provide basic and advanced life support in pre-hospital and interfacility settings, and transport patients according to protocols and physician orders.

Qualified candidates have an accredited Paramedic program, Colorado PARA license or ability to obtain, a current driver license with 3 years of driving experience and a clean MVR, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Paramedic education program.
• Unrestricted Paramedic license (Colorado PARA) or ability to obtain before start date.
• Current driver license with minimum 3 years driving experience and acceptable MVR.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers basic and advanced life support to sick and injured persons in pre-hospital and interfacility settings.
• Assesses illness or injury and prioritizes medical procedures per protocol and physician orders.
• Transports patients to hospitals or treatment facilities and coordinates with hospital staff.
• Maintains relationships with hospital staff, public safety agencies, and the community.

Job description

We are currently hiring for a PRN Paramedic within the Aspen Ambulance department here at Aspen Valley Health.

Work Shift: Rotating - Other Compensation Range: $33.93 - $54.27 The compensation range listed is an estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on your qualifications including years of experience performing similar work, level of formal education in a relevant field of study, and any professional certifications related to the position.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Paramedic education program.
• Unrestricted license to practice as a Paramedic (PARA) in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Current driver license, or ability to obtain prior to start date, with minimum 3 years of driving experience and acceptable MVR.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• May be obtained upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Colorado Critical Care Paramedic endorsement preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Position Overview:

Administers basic and advanced life support to sick and injured persons in pre-hospital and interfacility setting as directed by local protocols and physician orders. Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance. Transports sick and injured persons to or between hospitals or other appropriate treatment facilities. Maintains a good working relationship with hospital staff, public safety agencies and the community.
