Job summary

Aspen Valley Health is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant for our Ambulatory Care Clinics. You will support clinicians and perform front desk tasks such as patient registration, consent forms, insurance info, scanning and charge capture at time of service.

The Medical Assistant will float among outpatient clinics as needed, with rotating 8-hour shifts. BLS required; MA cert preferred; Colorado EMT licensure preferred; Spanish language skills a plus. AVH emphasizes teamwork and community care.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include BLS certification (may be obtained on hire).
• Preferred: Medical Assistant certification.
• Colorado EMT certification/licensure preferred or ability to obtain.
• Spanish bilingualism preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care under physician and nursing staff.
• Register patients, obtain insurance information, consent for treatment, scanning and billing responsibilities.
• Maintain excellent customer service, answer phones, assist with daily office operations.
• Float between outpatient clinics depending on staffing needs.
• Coordinate information with staff, patients and families.

Job description

We are currently hiring for a PRN Medical Assistant within the Ambulatory Care Clinics department here at Aspen Valley Health.

Work Shift:

Rotating - 8 Hours

Compensation Range:

$25.48 - $40.78Night and weekend shift differentials up to $10 per hour!

The compensation range listed is an estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on your qualifications including years of experience performing similar work, level of formal education in a relevant field of study, and any professional certifications related to the position.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS). May be obtained upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Current, unrestricted certification or licensure as an EMT in Colorado, or ability to obtain, preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Position Overview:

The Outpatient Clinics Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients under the direction of physician and nursing staff. In addition, assists with front desk responsibilities including complete and accurate registering of patients, completion of consent for treatment form, obtaining of insurance information, scanning, and charging responsibilities including collection of payment at time of service as appropriate. Practices exceptional customer service, answers phone, assists in maintaining office supplies, and assists with the daily operations of the clinic. Communicates and coordinates information in a knowledgeable and courteous manner with staff, patients, and families. Medical Assistants in the outpatient clinics will float between all outpatient clinics depending on staffing needs.
