Job summary

Marshall Medical Centers is seeking a Paramedic or Intermediate license holder with a valid driver’s license to support patient transport and emergency medical services under RN supervision. The role includes EKGs, venipuncture, vital signs, glucose measurement, and ambulance transport within established policies.

Maintain current BLS certification and stay current with state/federal EMS guidelines. No prior experience is required, and the incumbent will work within the Emergency Department team

Qualifications

• Paramedic license in Alabama required.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• No previous experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs ambulance maintenance and ensures radio equipment is operational.
• Responds to calls within time guidelines and provides care per BLS/ALS.
• Maintains competency in emergency medical care including suction, IVs, meds, monitors.
• Participates in ongoing education to improve ambulance service operations.
• Under supervision of licensed RNs, assists in patient care and transports.
• Completes patient care reports at time of care delivery.
• Adheres to facility and state/federal EMS guidelines.
• Maintains positive relationships with pre-hospital providers and hospital staff.
• Able to lift/move patients as required to provide care.
• Communicates with receiving facility for medical direction and critical information.
• Documents call data with dispatch and in patient records.
