Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of EMS evaluations and/or equivalent educational screening.
• WV EMS EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P) certification and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Attend orientation and EMS operations training; maintain EMS certification.
• Provide out-of-hospital care and safe ambulance transport following WV protocols and medical command.
• Lift and assist patients with physical requirements per safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, patients, and medical staff; document patient information per WV OEMS system.
• Inspect EMS equipment and ambulance readiness; respond to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Maintain professional appearance and assist with station and vehicle upkeep.
