Job summary

Priority Ondemand is seeking a Paramedic in Virginia Beach, VA to lead and participate in delivering basic and advanced life support in pre-hospital or facility settings. You'll direct crew members as attendant-in-charge, provide emergency medical care, and ensure all reports are completed.

Qualifications include Virginia EMT-I/EMT-P, CPR, ACLS, EVOC, and HAZMAT, with a valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• BTLS/ITLS or PHTLS is preferred.

• Must pass a criminal background check.
• FEMAICS100,200,700 &800c certifications.
• HAZMAT certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct and participate in the delivery of basic and advanced life support.
• Provide direction to crew as attendant-in-charge on patient care and medical issues.
• Deliver emergency medical care as indicated by medical control or protocols.
• Complete and file all required reports or runs by the crews.
• Operate ambulance in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Ensure vehicle is stocked and in good running order before and after shifts.
• Clean patient care areas and vehicle per infection control guidelines.
• Maintain workspace and vehicle areas neat and orderly.
• Attend required training and maintain Virginia EMT certification.
• Keep all certifications current and provide copies to HR before expiration.

$15,000 sign on bonus for Day shift position with 2-year Full-Time employment commitment

$25,000 sign on bonus for Night shift position with 2-year Full-Time employment commitment

The Paramedic role is responsible for the direction of patient care while operating non-emergency and/or emergency modalities as rescue unit in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and directives.

The EMT-P lead, direct, and participate in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation. When operating as attendant-in-charge, EMT-P provides direction to other crew members on patient care and medical issues. The EMT-P delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Time will be spent leading, directing, and participating in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation.
• Gives direction to other crew members when operating as attendant-in-charge on patient care and medical issues.
• Examines patients and reports findings to receiving medical staff or physicians.
• Delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols.
• Responsible for completing and recording all required reports or runs made by the crews.
• Operate the ambulance in accordance with safety rules and regulations: company policies; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes.
• Assuring that assigned vehicle is completely stocked and in good running order at the beginning of each shift, after every response, and at the end of each shift.
• Cleaning patient care compartment and vehicle in accordance with Company adopted infection control and maintenance guidelines.
• Maintaining office, lounge, bunk room, and vehicle parking area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Ability to lift, carry, and balance a minimum of 125 pounds equally distributed and 250 pounds with assistance, to a height of 33 inches and a distance of 10 feet.
• Attending training sessions and orientations as required to maintain valid Virginia EMT Certification and requirements of the Company.
• Maintain all required certifications as an active EMS provider and supply the Human Resources Department with valid copies of all certifications and driver's license prior to their expiration date.
• Performing other related duties as required by management.
