Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Virginia Beach seeks a Paramedic responsible for directing patient care in pre-hospital and facility settings. You will lead crews on basic and advanced life support and provide care per medical control protocols.

Responsibilities include documenting runs, maintaining readiness of equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and infection-control guidelines. Requires Virginia EMT-I/EMT-P, CPR, ACLS, EVOC, and related certifications with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia EMT-I or EMT-P certification.
• CPR, Healthcare Provider issued certification.
• ACLS certification is required.
• PALS/PEPP certification preferred or required.
• EVOC certification is required.
• BTLS/ITLS or PHTLS preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800c training.
• HAZMAT awareness/training.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and participate in delivery of basic and advanced life support.
• Provide EMS direction as attendant-in-charge to crew on patient care.
• Deliver emergency medical care per medical control protocols.
• Complete and record all required reports or runs.
• Operate ambulance safely in accordance with policies and laws.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment readiness at shift changes.
• Maintain infection control and cleaning of patient care areas.
• Ensure proper storage and parking of vehicles and offices.
• Maintain required certifications and provide copies to HR.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

* $15,000 sign on bonus for Day shift position with 2-year Full-Time employment commitment* $25,000 sign on bonus for Night shift position with 2-year Full-Time employment commitmentThe Paramedic role is responsible for the direction of patient care while operating non-emergency and/or emergency modalities as rescue unit in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and directives.The EMT-P lead, direct, and participate in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation. When operating as attendant-in-charge, EMT-P provides direction to other crew members on patient care and medical issues. The EMT-P delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols.Duties & Responsibilities:• Time will be spent leading, directing, and participating in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation.• Gives direction to other crew members when operating as attendant-in-charge on patient care and medical issues.• Examines patients and reports findings to receiving medical staff or physicians.• Delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols.• Responsible for completing and recording all required reports or runs made by the crews.• Operate the ambulance in accordance with safety rules and regulations: company policies; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes• Assuring that assigned vehicle is completely stocked and in good running order at the beginning of each shift, after every response, and at the end of each shift.• Cleaning patient care compartment and vehicle in accordance with Company adopted infection control and maintenance guidelines.• Maintaining office, lounge, bunk room, and vehicle parking area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.• Ability to lift, carry, and balance a minimum of 125 pounds equally distributed and 250 pounds with assistance, to a height of 33 inches and a distance of 10 feet• Attending training sessions and orientations as required to maintain valid Virginia EMT Certification and requirements of the Company.• Maintain all required certifications as an active EMS provider and supply the Human Resources Department with valid copies of all certifications and driver's license prior to their expiration date.• Performing other related duties as required by management.Experience & Skills:• Current Virginia EMT-I or EMT-P Certification• Current CPR, Healthcare Provider Issue• Current ACLS Certification• Current PALS/PEPP Certification• Current EVOC Certification• BTLS/ITLS or PHTLS preferred• Valid Driver’s License with no negative point• Pass a criminal background check• FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800c• HAZMAT#IND1
