Job summary

Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service in Ardmore, OK is hiring a Full-Time Paramedic (no on-call time). Choose from pay tiers: $21/hour for licensed paramedics, $22 for associate degree paramedics, $23 for bachelor's degree paramedics, plus $1/hr for CC certification and up to $1/hr for prior experience.

In addition, sign-on bonuses of $2,500 for 1-year commitment and $5,000 for 2-year commitment, plus relocation assistance of $1,000.

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification required.
• Oklahoma EMS license ability required.
• Clean driving record; no criminal history.
• Candidate testing includes skills exam, physical fitness test and written exam.
• Preferred CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Willing to relocate to the service area if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate an emergency medical vehicle.
• Lifts, carries, and transports injured, sick or incapacitated persons to medical facilities.
• Provides Paramedic level emergency medical treatment.
• Communicates with treatment facility staff for instructions.
• Obtains information from patients to assess illness or injury.
• Administers prescribed first-aid at site or in ambulance.
• Inspects and replenishes supplies; maintains vehicle.

As of December 4, 2025, we are offering the following incentives:

$2,500.00 Sign-on bonus for a 1-year commitment

$5,000.00 Sign-on bonus for a 2-year commitment

$1,000.00 Relocation Assistance (Not required)

Job Type: Full-Time

$21.00 per hour for licensed paramedics

Additional $1.00/hr. for Critical Care Certification

Job Description

• Operates an emergency medical vehicle.
• Lifts, carries, and transports injured, sick or incapacitated persons from residential or accident scenes to medical facilities.
• Provides Paramedic level emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
• Communicates with professional medical personnel at treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding treatment and to arrange for reception at medical treatment facilities.
• Obtains information from and examines patients to determine nature, extent, or magnitude of illness or injury.
• Administers prescribed first-aid treatment at site of emergency or in the ambulance according to established medical protocols.
  
• Inspects equipped emergency vehicles; cleans equipment to ensure its safe operation; and replenishes medical supplies, fuel, and fluids.

Requirements

• Applicants must be Paramedic certified and able to obtain an Oklahoma EMS license. Basic EMTs nearing the end of Paramedic school or waiting to test will be considered.
• Applicants must have a clean driving record and no criminal history and must be able to obtain an Oklahoma Driver’s License.
• Our candidate testing includes a skills exam, physical fitness test and written exam.
• Preferred candidates will have current CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• We prefer candidates who are willing to relocate to the service area although it is not a mandatory requirement for employment
