Job summary

Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service is seeking a full-time Basic EMT in Ardmore, OK. You will operate an emergency medical vehicle, deliver urgent care, and transfer patients to medical facilities.

Compensation includes $14.00 per hour, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus paid upfront and $1,000 relocation assistance for moves into the service area. 24 on/48 off shifts, full benefits, and additional pay opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• EMT certification and Oklahoma EMS license required.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates an emergency medical vehicle.
• Lifts, carries, and transports patients to medical facilities.

Job Description

• Operates an emergency medical vehicle.
• Lifts, carries, and transports injured, sick or incapacitated persons from residential or accident scenes to medical facilities.
• Provides emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
• Communicates with professional medical personnel at treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding treatment and to arrange for reception at medical treatment facilities.
• Obtains information from and examines patients to determine nature, extent, or magnitude of illness or injury.
• Administers prescribed first-aid treatment at site of emergency or in the ambulance according to established medical protocols.
  
• Inspects equipped emergency vehicles; cleans equipment to ensure its safe operation; and replenishes medical supplies, fuel, and fluids.

Requirements

• Applicants must be EMT certified and able to obtain an Oklahoma EMS license.
• Applicants must have a clean driving record and no criminal history and must be able to obtain an Oklahoma Driver’s License.
• Our candidate testing includes a physical fitness test
• Preferred candidates will have a current CPR certification.
• We prefer candidates who are willing to relocate to the service area although it is not a mandatory requirement for employment.
