Job summary

Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service Inc is seeking a full-time Advanced EMT to operate EMS vehicles in Ardmore and surrounding areas. You will perform patient assessments, transport to facilities, and on-scene medical care following established protocols.

The role offers a $17.00/hour pay, 24 on/48 off shifts, and incentives including $2,000 sign-on and $1,000 relocation. Benefits include paid medical/dental/vision/Life, IRA after 1 year, uniforms, cell-phone reimbursement, and generous leave.

Qualifications

• EMT Advanced certified or near Advanced Certification with ability to obtain Oklahoma EMS license.
• Clean driving record, no criminal history, able to obtain OK Driver’s License.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Willingness to relocate to the service area is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operates an emergency medical vehicle.
• Lifts, carries, and transports patients to medical facilities.
• Provides emergency medical treatment per established protocols.
• Communicates with medical personnel to arrange reception at facilities.
• Obtains patient information to determine illness or injury magnitude.
• Administers prescribed first-aid at site or in ambulance.
• Inspects vehicle and equipment; replenishes supplies, fuel, and fluids.

Job Description

• Operates an emergency medical vehicle.
• Lifts, carries, and transports injured, sick or incapacitated persons from residential or accident scenes to medical facilities.
• Provides emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
• Communicates with professional medical personnel at treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding treatment and to arrange for reception at medical treatment facilities.
• Obtains information from and examines patients to determine nature, extent, or magnitude of illness or injury.
• Administers prescribed first-aid treatment at site of emergency or in the ambulance according to established medical protocols.
• Inspects equipped emergency vehicles; cleans equipment to ensure its safe operation; and replenishes medical supplies, fuel, and fluids.

Requirements

• Applicants must be EMT Advanced certified or an EMT Basic nearing Advanced Certification and able to obtain an Oklahoma EMS license.
• Applicants must have a clean driving record and no criminal history and must be able to obtain an Oklahoma Driver’s License.
• Our candidate testing includes a physical fitness test
• Preferred candidates will have a current CPR certification.
• We prefer candidates who are willing to relocate to the service area although it is not a mandatory requirement for employment.
