Job summary

Stark & Stark, P.C. in Hamilton, NJ is seeking a Paralegal for its Nursing Home Negligence Group.

This full-time, on-site role involves working closely with attorneys and clients to support civil litigation matters and prepare for settlement, litigation, and trial. The ideal candidate has at least two years of civil litigation experience, familiarity with Plaintiff’s Personal Injury matters preferred, and holds an Associates/Bachelor’s degree or a Paralegal Certificate.

Qualifications

• At least two years of civil litigation experience; entry-level candidates with strong interest encouraged.
• Experience in Plaintiff’s Personal Injury matters preferred.
• Associates degree, Bachelor's degree, or Paralegal Certificate required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must.

Responsibilities

• Draft and respond to discovery requests, pleadings, and procedural motions.
• Manage case timelines and deadlines.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties.
• Perform accurate data entry and case updates in Filevine.
• Support case investigations by identifying at-fault parties and assessing liability.
• Communicate with clients to gather information on injuries, treatment, and financial losses.
• Analyze medical records, billing documentation, and related materials to support liability and damages claims.
• Identify and evaluate applicable health insurance coverage and potential liens.
• Draft demand letters and other legal documents; strong writing skills required.
• Prepare cases for settlement, litigation, and trial, including exhibit and visual aid creation.
