Job summary

Sheeley LLP, a dynamic and growing law firm, is seeking a skilled Paralegal to support litigation and transactional practices. You will work closely with attorneys and support staff to provide essential legal and administrative assistance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least 4 years of paralegal experience, strong knowledge of court procedures, and proficiency with Centerbase, Clio, MS Office and Adobe Acrobat. A Paralegal Certificate or an Associate's degree is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or paralegal certificate required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 4+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm or legal department.
• Strong understanding of court procedures and legal terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal management software (Centerbase, Clio).

Responsibilities

• Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts.
• Manage case files and ensure accurate document organization, retrieval, and archiving.
• Conduct legal and factual research to support active matters.
• Assist in the preparation of discovery requests and responses.
• Coordinate and summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and other case evidence.
• Receipt and review of medical authorizations (HIPAA) for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare letters to request medical records from providers and use third-party retrieval services.
• Create a log of all authorizations and records requested.
• Liaise with clients, experts, and courts on behalf of attorneys.
• Support attorneys with trial preparation and administrative tasks as needed.
