Job summary

Hslabour (United States) seeks a Paralegal to join its Legal & Compliance team, supporting transactional, contractual, and regulatory work across funding products. You will assist legal counsel with contract drafting, documentation management, and client liaison.

The role requires strong drafting and proofreading skills, solid corporate experience, and knowledge of compliance frameworks such as FICA, NCA, or POPIA.

Qualifications

• A paralegal/legal secretarial diploma is advantageous.
• 2 years relevant experience in a corporate setting.
• Working knowledge of FICA, NCA and/or POPIA.
• Strong drafting, proofreading and written communication skills.
• Clear criminal record.

Responsibilities

• Draft, proofread and format standard funding, security and commercial agreements.
• Support FICA/KYC verification and onboarding documentation for clients.
• Assist with compliance administration relating to the National Credit Act (NCA) and POPIA.
• Conduct due diligence checks and compile supporting documentation for transactions.
• Liaise with clients, internal stakeholders and external attorneys to gather and verify documentation.
• Assist with company secretarial tasks (CIPC filings, resolutions, minute-keeping) as required
• Conduct basic legal and regulatory research to support the legal team.
• Provide general administrative support to the Legal & Compliance department.
