Job summary

Union Pacific Corporation's Law Department offers a paralegal internship to assist with document review, legal research, fact gathering, drafting legal documents, and other assigned projects across labor, employment, personal injury, real estate, regulatory, and transactional matters in Omaha.

The ideal candidate is pursuing at least two years of college study in Paralegal Studies, has strong writing and communication skills, and can work 15–20 hours weekly during the academic year and full-time

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Completed coursework equivalent to at least one year toward a degree.
• Within commuting distance of Omaha, Nebraska.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Available full-time in Omaha during the summer; 15-20 hours per week during the academic year.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support paralegals with document review, analysis, fact gathering, legal research, drafting legal documents, and other projects.
• Assist paralegals across labor, employment, personal injury, real estate, regulatory, transactional, and other matters.
• Organize and maintain electronic legal files and matter records.
• Coordinate with external legal vendors and counsel for onboarding and documentation.
• Track and process legal invoices and related administrative items.
• Support efficient legal matter management through accurate recordkeeping and timely follow-up.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to follow legal procedures.
