Job summary

Cook County State's Attorney's Office in Bridgeview, IL, seeks a Paralegal to support Assistant State’s Attorneys at the Bridgeview Courthouse. You will research cases, prepare pleadings, organize files, and maintain confidentiality in a busy legal office.

Requirements include an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate, excellent verbal and written communication, and experience with Lexis and MS Word. Working hours are 8:30am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday. Apply by Sept 23, 2026.

Qualifications

• A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization, and multitasking ability.
• Experience in clerical and research support: document prep/review, interviewing clients/witnesses, research, investigations, and trial prep.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and LEXIS is required.

Responsibilities

• Research cases for attorneys using online and library resources.
• Abstract transcripts and pleadings; prepare redacted material.
• Assist in filing motions and other pleadings.
• Review and annotate digital media; produce exhibits for litigation.
• Coordinate discovery requests, monitoring status and packaging for defense.
