Job summary

Syntagma Group in Philadelphia is seeking a full-time Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to attorneys in our office. The role supports defense litigation for nationwide matters, including commercial litigation, construction defects, insurance coverage, and liquor liability.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or collaboratively while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of paralegal experience required.
• Defense litigation experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to anticipate attorney needs and work proactively.
• Billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys throughout the litigation process.
• Prepare correspondence, memoranda, legal documents, and other case materials.
• Communicate with opposing counsel, clients, witnesses, and experts.
• Conduct social media, internet, docket, and other case-related searches.
• Locate, organize, and develop information relevant to litigation matters.
• Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Prepare and serve subpoenas and authorizations for medical, employment, and insurance records.
• Summarize medical records and prepare chronologies for attorney review and use during litigation.
• Schedule depositions and issue subpoenas to attend and testify.
• Retain experts and prepare expert packages.
• Assist attorneys with additional litigation-related projects and administrative needs as required.
