We are looking for an experienced Paralegal / Claims Handler to join our team, with a strong background in the transportation, logistics, freight, or supply chain industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid claims-handling and legal administration experience who understands the complexities of transportation and logistics-related claims and disputes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and handle claims from initial notification through to resolution.
• Review, assess and investigate transportation and logistics-related claims.
• Liaise with clients, insurers, brokers, carriers, freight forwarders, attorneys and other relevant stakeholders.
• Review contracts, terms and conditions, correspondence, incident reports and supporting documentation.
• Gather and assess evidence to determine liability and potential exposure.
• Prepare claim files, legal documentation, correspondence and reports.
• Monitor claim deadlines, negotiations and settlement processes.
• Assist with dispute resolution, litigation preparation and matters referred to external counsel.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date claims records and case management systems.
• Provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders on the progress and status of claims.
• Identify trends, recurring issues and potential risks and elevate where appropriate.
• Support the legal/claims team with general paralegal and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Paralegal, Claims Handler, Legal Claims Specialist or similar role.
• Proven experience within the Transportation, Logistics, Freight, Shipping, Supply Chain or related industry.
• Strong understanding of transportation/logistics claims and associated contractual issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident in dealing with clients, insurers, legal professionals and other external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and claims/case management systems.
• Formal Paralegal, Legal, Claims or related qualification.
• Experience with commercial disputes, cargo claims, freight claims or liability matters.
• Knowledge of transportation contracts, carrier liability and insurance processes.
• Experience working with attorneys or external legal counsel.
