Job summary

Ward North American is seeking a highly organized Claims Specialist to manage household goods claims from receipt through final resolution. You will review assessment documentation, investigate loss or damage, determine liability, and process settlements while handling chargebacks when appropriate.

The ideal candidate will work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and apply company guidelines to decisions and settlements. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong computer and data entry skills; learn multiple systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize changing workloads.
  • Strong reading comprehension and ability to interpret detailed documentation.
  • Basic accounting/math skills for settlements, liability, and chargebacks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage claims from initial submission through settlement and closure.
  • Review inventories, condition reports, photographs, estimates, delivery documents, and other moving records to determine liability.
  • Prioritize claims based on urgency, severity of damage, deadlines, and customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate claim files, notes, documentation, and follow-up tasks.
  • Calculate settlements, deductibles, liabilities, and chargebacks.
  • Identify responsible parties and communicate financial liability when applicable.
  • Communicate claim decisions professionally with customers, drivers, agents, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Handle difficult conversations and disputes professionally and confidently.
  • Follow established daily tasks, procedures, and timelines while managing a high-volume workload.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Position: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Claims Specialist to manage household goods claims from initial receipt through final resolution. This position is responsible for reviewing claim documentation, investigating loss or damage, determining liability, processing settlements, and assigning chargebacks to responsible parties.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and making decisions based on documentation and established company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage claims from initial submission through settlement and closure.
  • Review inventories, condition reports, photographs, estimates, delivery documents, and other moving records to determine liability.
  • Prioritize claims based on urgency, severity of damage, deadlines, and customer needs.
