Job summary

Gravitas Group in New York seeks an experienced Senior Claims Executive to deliver high-quality claims and advisory services across the ports, terminals, transport and logistics sectors.

You will manage complex claims within authority levels, provide technical guidance to members and brokers, oversee key client accounts, support retention and underwriting activity, and mentor junior colleagues while travelling to client and industry events.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer or law degree holder with practice experience.
• Strong litigation experience defending insurers in complex disputes.
• Extensive claims handling across marine, ports, terminals, transport or logistics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Commercial, analytical and solutions-focused approach.
• Willingness to travel for meetings with clients and brokers.
• Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements.

• Provide technical guidance and strategic advice to members, brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee key client accounts and escalate significant claims issues when required.
• Support business retention, new business development and wider underwriting activity.
• Deliver training and mentor junior colleagues.
• Contribute to loss-prevention initiatives and represent the business at client meetings and industry events.

Candidate requirements:

• Qualified lawyer or law degree holder; legal practice experience is highly desirable.
• Strong litigation experience, ideally representing or defending insurers in complex disputes.
• Significant claims-handling experience across marine, ports, terminals, transport or logistics.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Commercial, analytical and solutions-focused approach.
