Job summary

Equal Justice Law Group in Sacramento seeks an organized, detail-oriented paralegal with at least three years of experience to support civil litigation, probate, and trust administration matters. Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of paralegal experience.
• Experience in Civil Litigation, Probate, or Trust Administration (one or more).
• Ability to independently manage cases from initiation through resolution under attorney supervision.
• Strong knowledge of California court procedures, filing requirements, and deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and written communication skills.
• Ability to anticipate next steps and move cases forward without constant supervision.
• Proficiency in MS Office and legal case management software.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Meet California's paralegal qualification requirements under Business and Professions Code § 6450.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage assigned cases from start to finish under attorney supervision, ensuring progress and deadlines are met.
• Draft, prepare, and file legal pleadings, petitions, motions, discovery documents, and correspondence.
• Assist attorneys with all phases of civil litigation, probate proceedings, and trust administration.
• Proactively monitor case progress, identify outstanding tasks, and follow through to timely completion.
• Maintain organized case files, monitor court deadlines, and manage litigation calendars.
• Coordinate court filings, hearings, depositions, service of process, and other case-related matters.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Assist with discovery, document production, settlement preparation, and trial preparation.
• Maintain accurate case records and provide regular updates to supervising attorneys.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client service.
