Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, a nationally recognized Am Law 200 firm, is seeking an enthusiastic Paralegal to join our Wilmington team. This 100% in-office role requires a team player with excellent communication, problem-solving, and ownership mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation, familiarity with web-based legal research, and an ABA-approved paralegal certificate. Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years paralegal experience in a law firm.
• Civil litigation experience required.
• Familiarity with web-based legal research services.
• iManage experience a plus.
• Must pass a background/drug screen.
• Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from ABA approved program required.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with the preparation of a civil case for trial
• Discovery and records management
• Ability to summarize medical and employment records, create medical chronologies, summarize discovery responses, prepare meet and confer correspondence
• Motion writing experience, such as oppositions to motions including discovery motions, motions to continue trial
• Proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with minimal supervision and exceptional attention to detail
