Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The successful candidate will support the team by managing case files, conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and ensuring filings and paperwork are processed efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information from statutes, case law, legal articles, and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs. Assist in preparing documents for court filings.
  • Organize and maintain case files, manage deadlines, and keep track of ongoing legal proceedings to ensure documentation accuracy and timeliness.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain information, provide status updates, and answer routine questions.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for court appearances and trials, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and managing correspondence.
  • Handle other tasks as assigned by attorneys or supervisors to ensure efficient operation of the legal team.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field; paralegal certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management systems.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with clients and court personnel.
  • Ability to review and organize detailed documents with accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical conduct.

Physical Requirements

This job operates in a professional office environment. Employees will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. Employees must be able to operate a computer, phone, copier, and printer. Occasionally, moving within the office, reaching, lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.
