Job summary

Neill Law Firm seeks a highly organized Paralegal to support attorneys across multiple practice areas in Myrtle Beach, SC. You will handle case management, research, drafting, trial prep, and client communications, while ensuring compliance with laws and firm procedures.

You will collaborate with attorneys in various matters, manage deadlines, and maintain accurate files with attention to detail. Strong writing, communication, and tech skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or related field preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years paralegal experience preferred (may be adjusted).
  • Experience in litigation, corporate, family law, real estate, estate planning is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and legal case management/e-filing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal, regulatory, and factual research to support trial prep.
  • Draft, review, and proofread pleadings, motions, contracts, discovery, and other docs.
  • Manage and maintain case files with accuracy and organization.
  • Coordinate litigation deadlines, filings, closings, hearings, depositions, mediations, trials.
  • Prepare and electronically file legal documents.
  • Assist with all phases of discovery (document collection, review, production).
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, vendors.
  • Review and summarize medical, financial records, contracts, and case docs.
  • Maintain billing records and track billable time where applicable.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with ethical/legal standards.
  • Stay current on laws, procedures, and legal tech.
  • Perform other duties to support the legal team.

Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to provide comprehensive legal support to attorneys across a variety of practice areas. The Paralegal will assist with case management, legal research, drafting legal documents, trial preparation, and client communication while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, court rules, and firm procedures. The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal, regulatory, and factual research to support attorneys in case preparation.
  • Draft, review, and proofread pleadings, motions, contracts, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurate, complete, and organized.
  • Coordinate and monitor litigation deadlines, court filings, closings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Prepare and electronically file legal documents.
  • Assist attorneys with all phases of discovery, including document collection, review, production, and organization.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and third-party vendors.
  • Review and summarize medical records, financial records, contracts, and other case-related documents.
  • Maintain billing records and track billable time, when applicable.
